Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Tianjin Institute of Health Science (TIH)
Established in 2021, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Tianjin Institute of Health Science (TIH) is a national medical and health science innovation platform jointly developed by the Tianjin Municipal Government and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences/Peking Union Medical College (CAMS & PUMC).
As an important initiative supporting the Healthy China strategy and the coordinated development of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, TIH undertakes the development of the Tianjin Base of the National Core Base for Medical Science and Technology Innovation, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, also known as the PUMC Tianjin Base. The institute also coordinates scientific research and medical resources of CAMS in Tianjin.
Located on the western shore of Tuanbo Lake in Jinghai District, Tianjin, TIH has a total construction area of approximately 150,000 square meters and is equipped with advanced research infrastructure, including laboratories and biobanks. Its research focuses include basic medicine, stem cell and regenerative medicine, radiological medicine, and related frontier fields. TIH is committed to advancing medical innovation, translational research, and high level talent development.
In July 2024, TIH signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Nankai University to further strengthen collaboration in medical and health sciences.
